Downloading and Installing VTune 2.5.1

Note: You must have a new password to install VTune 2.5.1. When you download and unzip the VTune 2.5.1 update, you will be prompted for the password. The password you used to install previous versions of VTune will not work for VTune 2.5.1. See VTune 2.5.1 Update for password information.

To download and install VTune 2.5.1, do the following:

1. Double-click on VTune25.exe in the download table below.
   
2. Save the file that you download to a temporary directory.
3. Double-click on the .exe to extract the files.
4. At the program's prompt, enter the password you received from Intel.
   If the password you entered is correct and the program accepts it, all files necessary for installing VTune 2.5.1 will be extracted and the installation process begins.
5. Follow the prompts the installation program guides you through.
   

Note: You must have administrator privileges to install VTune on Windows* NT. If VTune is installed by a different user, when you log in for the first time, update the user's registry by double-clicking on the Update User's VTune Registry icon in the VTune program group.
